Website last updated - British & Continental Giant Rabbits. Welcome to Singleton Stud, British Rabbit Council (BRC) registered breeders of Continental Giant Rabbits & English Lops. We have over 40 years of rabbit breeding experience. We are also members of the British Giant Rabbit club and the Continental Giant Rabbit Association. The primary aim of this website is to provide as much information as possible about British and Continental Giant Rabbits, We aim to provide information to people regardless of whether they already own Giant rabbits or not. We want to share our passion; hopefully owners will be encouraged to exhibit their Giant Rabbits at BRC shows. We hope that people reading these pages who don't own Giant Rabbits will be encouraged to do so, and having visited our website will be able to make an informed choice when they decide to purchase their first Giant Rabbit.   We exhibit our British and Continental Giant Rabbits at BRC shows. For those who are interested in showing their giant rabbits we provide pages that set out the standards that these giant rabbit breeds are judged against. For more information  Please email or telephone Denise on 01772 788372 Mob - 07913007202 Or Elaine on 01772 716272  Continental Giant Rabbit Breed Standard Having seen many so called Continental Giant rabbits over the past couple of years, we are concerned that the breed standard is dropping at an alarming rate, we have seen some truly awful specimens which are supposed to represent the breed. It is our opinion that a growing number of people are breeding Continental Giants with total disregard to the breed standard. Many of the distinctive characteristics of this magnificent breed such as size, head shape and colour to name but a few are beginning to disappear. Throwing two rabbits together without any consideration to improving the breed is surely detrimental. If we are not careful we will end up with a Heinz 57 Giant which is so substandard the Europeans wouldn’t recognises them as the magnificent Continental breed. As breeders we all need to pull in the same direction by striving to improve bloodlines; we should only breed and sell giant rabbits that we would be proud to own our self. If we are not careful the only way we will be able to introduce new quality bloodlines into our rabbitry will be to import them. At Singleton Stud we will do our level best to ensure that we breed our Continental Giants to meet the breed standards set by the British Rabbit Council and we urge every other breeder of this magnificent rabbit to make it a priority to do likewise.
