1. TYPE AND WEIGHT - Minimum Weight - Doe's should not be less than 13.5 lbs (6.123kg). Bucks should not be less than12.5lbs (5.670kg). British Giant Rabbits

 

2. COAT - Should be very dense, full coat 19 - 25mm length. Thick to touch, and with enough resistance to resume normal position when stroked backwards. Texture, not too harsh not too soft.

 

3. BODY & Type - Should be large, long, roomy, as flat as possible. Broad front and hind quarters well formed. Firm, musculed body. 

    HEAD - Should be broad, large, full and bold. Ears to be erect; not to exceed 19cm (7.5in) in length.

 

    EYES - Bold eyes.

 

4. COLOURS -

WHITE - White, not cream, eye colour blue or pink.

BLACK - Black top blue under colour. As dark as possible at base. Eye colour brown or blue

DARK STEEL GREY - Evenly ticked all over body, head, ears, feet. One dark bar allowed on back feet. Dark belly preferred but white belly  permissible. Dark blue under colour at base. Eye colour brown  

BLUE - Blue to grey right through to base as in Dutch. Eye colour - blue, grey or brown.

BROWN GREY - Evenly ticked all over body, head, ears, feet and tail. White belly. Eye colour blue grey or brown.

OPAL - Top colour a pale shade of blue over an intermediate fawn band with good definition and slate under colour. Ears laced blue. Eye circle, underside of tail and belly to be white with slate under colour. Eye colour to match body colour.

 

5. CONDITION - Flesh should be firm all over. Free from colds, and in good health.

 

FAULTS. - Black heads and feet on dark steel or grey but allowed a little darker than the body. Bagginess and excessive fat. Moulting coats. Narrow heads. Pale under colour in blacks, steels and greys. Woolly coats. White toe-nails in blacks, steels and greys. All faults to loses 10 points. A few white hairs allowed. bunches of white hairs a fault. No pearling in blues.

 

Disqualifications -  Bagginess. Excessive fat. Narrow head. Wooly coat.
