My name is Myrtle, I was born on the 21st December 2006 as you can see I am a yellow Labrador, and my posh name is Deniangill with Kenmilleven Luna. I live with my mum Tia and my auntie Tara, I like Tara, I don't think she liked me at first because she kept growling at me, however I kept pestering her and now she puts up with me and even lets me sleep next to her sometimes when I am cold.
Myrtles dog showing career
Myrtle's first show was the Tongue and district canine open show held on the 15th July 2007. Myrtle was entered into the puppy bitch class; normally a dog under nine months would have gone into the minor puppy class. Myrtle did very well coming second in her class to the eventual best of breed winner in the Labrador Retriever group. Next week she is going to her first championship show in Leeds.
Myrtle entered the Cartmel Agricultural Society dog show on the 1st August 2007 where she was judged as the best in the gun dog puppy class; this class win put her in with a chance of winning best puppy in show, alas on this occasion it was not to be.
Myrtle did very well at Bolton Town Show on the 18th August; there was no minor puppy class so Myrtle had to show against puppies up to 12 months old. She came back with four rosettes by winning best puppy in breed; she also won the sponsored puppy award.
On the 14th October Myrtle entered the North West Labrador club championship show at St Helen’s; this was Myrtles first show in the puppy class. She was up against stiff competition finishing third in her class, enough to qualify her for Crufts 2008. The puppy that came first is the best puppy in the country at the moment; the second place went to a puppy from one of England’s most successful Labrador breeders, so all in all we are very proud of Myrtles achievements.
