On the next few pages we provide information to people who may be looking to show their rabbits. We look at the show standards for the British Giant Rabbit, The White Continental Giant Rabbit, the Coloured Continental Giant Rabbit and the English Lop.
So once you decide that you want to show your rabbit, how do you find out where and when shows are being run. Well the best bet is to subscribe to the Fur & Feather magazine. There you will find all BRC shows advertised, just look through and find one that you fancy going to. Each advert will have a star rating at the top, this indicates the status of the show. The biggest shows are 5* shows with small local shows being 1* or 2* shows. It is usually best to start with a small show to learn the ropes.
How do you know if the show supports your breed of rabbit, you will notice a lot of abbreviations in the advert and it can be quite daunting at first finding your breed. If you where showing a British Giant for instance and you couldn't find it's class in the show advert, you could still show your giant under any other variety fur (this will appear as AOV Fur in the advert). All breeds of rabbit fall into one of for categories which are Fancy, Fur, Rex & Lop, all shows have a AOV section.
